The Flamenco Souls have been playing for the Chess Social for over six years and are an integral part of how we have grown. Band leaders David Holguin and Christian Bhagwani and their band of ten play a mixture of classic/ latin jazz all over town. This house band is something to see!

Alternative rock band, Hybrid Citizen, has made quite a splash at the Chess Social in the two years of residency. These humble and talented boys are known for helping other live music acts set up and jamming into the wee hours of the night. Many members have grown to really enjoy their sound and character.

Sean Tarpey and the Smooths have been playing alternative rock in LA for over three years. This talented "greasy" band hails from Eagle Rock, CA and has been performing for the Chess Social since the its inception.

Deep Waters is a Los Angeles based band, formed in the spring of 2018. 

They blur the lines between punk, rock, and folk, creating the perfect blend of loud, foot-stomping music. With their unique lyricism, Deep Waters focuses on stories that bring a brutally honest look at the human condition. Often described as having a 90s rock sound, their influences range from jazz to classic punk. Each member delivers their unique vision and style, bringing a twist to new music. Deep Waters will make you move, but more importantly, they’ll make you think.

Soul Fuzz is a jam band out of Pasadena, CA.  A group of various musical friends that spans many years, the current line up has been performing locally in Southern California since 2009. An eclectic blend of many styles/genres/influences, Soul Fuzz combines the jam infused ideals of bands like Phish, The Grateful Dead, and many others. Currently you can catch Soul fuzz on the "First Thursday of the Month" at the Old Towne Pub in Pasadena.

Caleb Henry is a Country Rock, Blues, and Americana artist from the Wild Wild West of California. Henry's music focuses in on his real life experiences of love, loss, and things to come. His main goal is to create songs that will change hearts, shape culture, and bring back an authenticity to music that has been missing for far too long. Backed by his loyal gang of musicians known as "The Customs," Caleb Henry and The Customs go from town to town turning every stage into an energetic, and heartfelt home for those who like to live on the wild side.

Thomas began his musical journey with classical guitar and voice. Soon after learning piano, he developed a knack for songwriting and moved quickly post graduation to production school where he founded Valel Music Co. Thomas enjoys all styles but primarily works with rock and hip hop.
